Neil’s challenge was:

MAGNET FEET! You gotta have the figure sticking to something with the magnet feet. Find something interesting for to stick it to.

At the end of the day I’m not sure I met that challenge entirely as the wire grid I stuck the magnet feet to in order to allow me to display the figure inverted isn’t all that interesting. But I also don’t think anyone expected me to ever finish this shoot, so I’m putting this in the win column.

Aside from those magnet feet, the only other noteworthy thing about this shot is that the Revoltech Danboard’s eyes are the only light source in this shot.

The circumstances that led to my FPF 26 effort, and the time that it took to get it done, have a story behind it.

Neil’s challenge to me was:

One or more of these: https://myfigurecollection.net/item/144691 and not necessarily that specific one.

Your challenge:
Play up the relaxing and literary/bookish qualities of the figure(s) with your scene/backdrop.

With these challenges Jeff’s really helping me get a lot of mileage out of my macro lens, and this week is no exception. This time I had to use a wee tiny trading figure of Senjougahara Hitagi. It’s only about 6cm tall. The challenge was,

Your challenge is to capture it in such a way that it doesn’t seem like a tiny trading figure. They gave it a pretty compelling facial expression, and I think you’ve got the glass to pull it off.

Neil’s challenge to me this week was as follows:

Your figure:
You pick two! You can pick any two /articulated/ figures in your collection.

Your challenge:
You must pose your two articulated figures in such a way that they're interacting with each other.

Easy enough. I can’t think of any two articulated figures in my collection that work better with each other than Yotsuba and Danbo. We’re in the last few days of sweet summer weather where I live, and it’s only fair that these guys get out for one last adventure before the grey days set in.

The Queens Blade Revoltech series are the figures that got me into collecting in earnest. My first was Erina, purchased on the last day of a convention because I was impressed by the variety of accessories and the articulation at the price. My tastes have changed a lot since then, but it’s still a goal to collect the entire 1P color scheme. Nanael was one that I had on the back burner for a while, but I was recently fortunate enough to come into one, SIB and effectively brand new.

QB004 Nanael is a part of the Kaiyodo Revoltech articulated figure line, Queens Blade series, is 1/12 scale and was released in September of 2009 at ¥2900.
